Radiator Fitment

Recommended Posts

Alright. Progressing further on the M20 swap. Currently sorting out the radiator. I've got the scirocco radiator that the "M20 conversion for dummies" article mentions. I believe it's about 25" wide (overall) and 13" tall (again, overall). I'd like to see what others have done regarding the fitment in front of the engine. Specifically where the cutting is necessary and how to deal with the angled hood supports. I'm finding the radiator wont sit far enough down in front of the engine with the hood supports still in the factory positions. Further, I think the radiator is a bit to wide to clear the bumper mount beams. Will those need to be trimmed back? Or is there some other way of doing this? I'm not a huge fan of hacking up the entire front of the car for structural reasons.

Secondly, Anyone have any pictures of how they attached/mounted their electric fan on the radiator as well? Just trying to get an idea of what the kind of clearances I'll be left with.

Thanks,

Matt
