Will this work (throttle shaft pivot point replacement)

The plastic "bearing" in my firewall pivot point plate is just about ready to disintegrate.  So, let's get a new one...

Nope, it's NLA.

OK, let's make one.  A 6mm spherical bearing mounted in a bit of aluminum should do the job.  It actually pivots, unlike the old one.   But, it sticks out into the engine bay a bit more.  I also didn't elongate the holes like the original.   I can re-do it to recess the bearing more, and/or elongate the holes, but is that needed?

Looks good from where I am sitting.

I think the slots are to align the shaft, so that it comes out of the fixed plastic bushing at 90 degrees.

The pivoting bearing should eliminate the need for the slotted holes.

Keep the shaft lubricated though, because it is a slip fit that moves with the engine.

It is sort of a linear bearing, as well as a torsional one.

Now you tell me!  Just kidding.  Hard to keep track-  "NLA" doesn't always mean anything, and finding an item in a list with a price doesn't mean it's really available, or at what cost sometimes.

Mine's more shiny.  Until I paint it.
