Tii Brake booster filter and silencer?!?!

Recommended Posts

Good morning everyone! Question about the parts 13 (filter) and 14 (silencer) on the picture below: does the brake booster need those parts? I dismantled mine and I thinkg those 2 parts are missing...or should I remove the part shown at the tip of the arrow?
Does yours have them? It seems today there not available anymore anywhere...

Thanks for your help!

The cap you are pointing to slids off and the filter is inside of the Bakelite collar.  Be VERY careful when working around that collar.  It is fragile and, if it cracks, you will be looking for another booster.

When you take your foot off the brake pedal, air rushes into the booster through the filter/silencer.  If you don't mind having the booster suck in dirt (which will eventually end up in the engine intake), then you don't need the filter.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Thank you very much for your answers! So 5 minutes and here I am: the cap easy to remove, the filter in one piece but with a few small parts at the end of the bakelite tube. (cleaner with compressed air). As you show me the filter is easy to replicate...and part 14 is the cap.

Einspritz and rcf925, I'd love to send it to pwrbrake.com, but I'm in Belgium, and postage for such a heavy part would probably cost a fortune. I going to search in german to find an equivalent in Europe.

Again, great forum! Thanks for your help.
