Brake Booster questions

The brake booster I've chosen to install on the 1600-2 is the same size and basic dimensions as another booster that I have, but there are differences.  I also checked the parts diagrams and gained more confusion.

1.  Vacuum inlet.  Mine has just a round hole with a matching grommet (shiny booster in the photos).  IIRC, the vacuum line was just pushed into that hole, but it's been a while and the car was anything but "standard".  The other booster (rusty in one photo) has a different inlet that has three "slots" with a matching right angle plastic fitting (not shown) and a decrepit square section o-ring.  Parts diagrams show that type, I think...  Is mine one of the original types, and can I find a right angle fitting to match it?

2.  Filter and retainer-  It seems that there should be a filter on the shaft that holds the fork to which the brake pedal mechanism attaches.  There's another older thread which shows a round bit of white foam, the filter, and another bit of brown stuff that holds it in.  The photo shows a threaded attachment between the fork and the shaft.  My booster has neither of the filter bits and the fork is permanently attached?  Same questions- is mine an original, and is there a type of filter that I'm supposed to be using?
