My wife-to-be and me with Binkley, my '71 1600.  Photo was taken in July 1985 in Seattle.  I was the 2nd, 4th, and 6th owner of that car.  I put over 200,000 miles on it and it never broke down.  I'm on my 4th 2002 now.

SOO appropriate that this thread just popped up, what serendipity!  My parents were just going through, digitizing, and sending me a few old pictures from my youth, and this gem was in there!  Must be lateish 80s, meaning this was in the '75 Malaga!

Can see it in the background here too while I help dad with something on the 4-door Cutlass Cierra!

These were taken right after I bought the car in '87.  It had the funky black rearview mirror, and the mud flaps.  To get it approved for US, the POs (from Germany) put what looked like boat trailer lights on the front and rear fenders.  Those went away when I had it repainted in the early '90s.

My Dad worked for Kodak - these photos are Kodak Instant Camera pics.  Kodak Polaroids, in other words.

Put a screen grab in as the more recent pic - from Artomobila in Carmel, IN.  Hagerty took a pic of our cars and put it on their FB page.

That was a good car, and still is!

Sigh, I so miss the 02 Fest East gatherings, so many great memories and great people. Hard to believe it’ll be 20 years this October since I relocated from NYC to SF. I just dug up the below picture with my buddy, Curtis King, and his son, some time in the late ‘90s. I remember there was this nice guy (Lawrence?) Who used to win all the prizes with his immaculate, “Caribbean Blue” (that’s what he called it anyways) square light car.

Since folks are posting really old pictures of themselves, I guess I'll embarrass myself too!

The first picture is Wolfgang and me, take in January 2018 just before Wolfgang went off to the CCA Foundation for a year's worth of free, climate-controlled storage (AKA display).

The second one is me in my AF uniform (1/Lt) taken the day I brought my '69 home from the dealer down in Queens, NY, May 5, 1969.  I was stationed at Griffiss AFB (Rome NY).  Next to Wolfgang is Anatole, my '59 Renault 4CV, which was my first car and daily driver 'till I bought the BMW.  The BMW's grille looks hazy 'cause I have a piece of fiberglass window screen being used as a bug screen to protect those delicate grilles.

I still have both cars; they haven't aged much--but I have!

OK....I found some oldies.

Purchased new on Feb 17, 1976, and still have and enjoy it today. Only 143k miles young.
