My tincan 2002 turns 50 today

after 50 years and  close to 400,000 miles it still has it's original exterior and interior colors and original motor with 1 motor rebuild in 1978 at 175,000 miles

The BMW 2002 US VIN 1674823 was manufactured on May 11th, 1970 and delivered on May 13th, 1970 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Agave, paint code 071.

Way to go--another long-term survivor (both you and the car!) reaching the half century mark.  My two are mere pups at 226k and 267k...And one of my favorite colors too!

but just to be clear i haven't owned the car for all 50 years, i bought it sight unseen for some crazy mormom cult leader in southern utah 6 years ago on my lunch break while working at the studios in burbank

 

major highlights:

sold new in portland in dec 1970

engine rebuilt in 1978

painted in 1985

interior in 2014
