Nice looking car. I'm just a bit surprised a '76 is fetching this kind of price.

At the risk of being a smart ass I would be surprised if it was well into 6 figures but it appears to be a typo(lol).

To you point I am not. I think one  would be hard pressed to take a average 02 to this level of presentation for anything close to 30K. Paint and interior could run you into  a 20k invoice in a heart beat,  so I think there is value here.

The owner has done  a very nice job turning  his car into a very desirable driver. I for one love the colour combo  and the switch to the Euro look and tasteful mods. Personally I think if this car was a different style tail light, it would be closing in on 40 by now. Non Tii offerings are starting attract some serious consideration if well sorted.

Ah, the glory of Bring a Trailer. A car that could not sell for $20k anywhere else, will sell for $30k & upward on BAT. Go figure.

And, when sold, the audience will post "well sold" to the Seller & "well bought" to the Buyer. How the hell can one car be both???

I need another beer?

Anyone wants to guess how much I’ve spent on this 71? I still got another $6k to go for dash panels heater box etc?

I cant guess with just one rear end picture but it looks nice so far. However, I'm happy to redo your steel wheels in the original color etc. Mike if you send them over to me.

Thanks, Resra.  I own a set of  minilites wheels that may look good on it.  The picture was a teaser.  I have spent too much $ & € on this.  Be happy to get my money back.  Be good.

How much one puts in a car is not necessarily a measure of what you'll get back.

You can put $100k in a Ford Pinto.

Not saying this 2002 is a Pinto, but owner probably wants $35k.  That's fine, but the market just isn't there for non-Tiis/squares sadly.

Now if the rust bubble wasn't there, removed the knee trim, and some different wheels/tires, it might've hit $30k.  $33k if it had BBS RS001s and a 5-speed.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
