I was just looking at this for my other car, there is a cheaper model for $180-ish. Shipped from Norway. Continental is made by VDO, seems to be sold only in Europe.

That is the one I provided a link for already.  Available in us......$169.

I installed a retrosound radio in a non faq vehicle recently. It was DOA outta the box. The knobs were so loose they’d fall off and to top it all off the retrosound speakers that I bought to match unit killed the amp within the head unit. The speaker leads were grounding to the baskets. Made in China... go figure. They offered to have me send the speakers in and “take a look”, but since I’d already shipped the radio off once to them for the other issues I was done. Controls are not particularly intuitive either. Oh well. I used the pre amp outs to power an external amp and got some different speakers to “save” the install. We won’t be doing business w them anymore.

I’ve got one of those $20 radios too. It works... Can’t turn the volume up quickly w the knob though (rheostat must be bad). Seemed to work ok on the bench otherwise.

I went with the Becker option I posted earlier, not cheap but works as advertised, looks perfect. You get what you pay for.

My experience has been that the tuner section of Beckers is horrible.  Do you use it for FM radio?

Oh deer.  For $220, that's a lotta Canaloupe.  But it has 'deep integration'.  That's something we had in a re- org

meeting the other day, and it kinda resembled a lot of bulldroppings that didn't say anything.

Now, if it 'plugged into the factory deck's plug' maybe THAT would mean something.

If it doesn't have an 8- track, it's not 'period correct' for a 2002, anyways.

8 Track.....Sooo...Groovy dude..

Grab some Q-tips and alcohol and clean the heads first......

No issues, I have a Grand Prix that has auto search and that even works fine.
