A ‘69 1600 w an automatic?

I’m guessing someone dropped a 2-liter engine and trans out of a 2002A into a 1600-2.  Since perhaps a majority of 1600-2’s have already been converted to 2 liters, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of them also acquired automatic transmissions....

I’d hope it’s a 2l. Though the ad does indicate that the car is “all original”... (aren’t they all? ?)

 

I recall my ‘71 1600 (4spd w a 3.64 rear gear) wasn’t the quickest thing around. The ansa exhaust made it sound quicker, but let’s be honest. 
 

I can’t imagine what a joy kill a slush box would be behind a 1.6

I'm not even sure it's a '69--amber center tail lights, trapezoid mirror, bulge turn signals, side reflectors with external screws--none of those came on a '69.  While some of those items might have been replaced over the years, the chances that all were is kinda small.  Also--automatic trannys are physically larger than manual trannys--do you think someone would actually enlarge the tunnel to accommodate an automatic?  Bet it's a '70 or early '71--'02 automatics came out about April 1969; fewer than 1500 were sold in the US.  And of course there never was a 1600 automatic...

Im sure it had been. I remember checking the ratio before selling the driveline to BimmersRUs after I wrecked it/parted it out.
