'73 Turkis tii on eBay

Ugly "resto" by a clueless private seller who also has featured 6 other cars in the past year.

Cali car previously in Alabama.

There's my opinion.  :)

lipstick on a pig

To make it even less desirable since October you get to add California Sales Tax to your purchase on Ebay.

That little fact will not show up until you agree to buy, which has resulted in many unpaid item cases.

A special thanks to eBay and the Supreme Court.

To clarify, nice car, not nice goes to ebay.

Curious to hear the issues you guys are finding to educate myself... All I can see are:

- No underneath shots - what lurks?

- Cracked dash

- Questionable reupholstery

- A bit of sloppy paint in the engine bay (in the wiper motor compartment)

- Optimistic price

I haven’t seen enough of the car to comment. Wait. Do I need to actually see a car to form an opinion? Hell no! If my bud, Ray, doesn’t like it, then I don’t like it. If Ryan says its “lipstick on a pig,” it is, no doubt, lipstick on a pig. I’m done. 😋

Wait. Is it a factory Turkis round taillight tii? If so, that would be cool!

Regards,

Steve

I like it. It's clear the seller didn't intend to go factory stock direction but so what? Looks cool and I don't see where it is a lipstick on anything. Let alone a pig! More like ...... Lipstick on Sophia Loren.

Les does ;-)

It may be an original turkis tii.

If you say "restoration," that is not supposed to mean "I threw new parts at it that are not factory," like door panels, instrument bezels, wrong grilles, unfaithful upholstery, post '73 wheels...

Missing hood rod wheel thingy.

But maybe that is because he SLAMMED THE HOOD DOWN, as shown here:

I see 49K and I expect GREAT driver quality with a sunroof.  Disappointed.

Sophia Loren with tattoos.

I don't quite agree with the "lipstick on a pig" moniker. The car may have good bones.

And it does have nice-looking rear wheel wells -- if you're into that sort of thing... 😉

I guess 'restoration' can (or even should, Ray?) mean a totally stock rebuild.

It doesn't for me. It's just too broad a term.

My car was restored, but it's far from stock. What to I call that? A restomodded car? That's not even a word!

And if you put big brakes on a 'restored' car, how big a can of nomenclature worms does that open? Helllllooooo concours!

As far pigs and lipstick, that reminds me of beer goggles.😎
