Hello all -- Just wondering if anyone would opine as to why this 72tii isn't getting bought up at the BIN price on ebay.    Non matching number?  Quality of repaint? Base color?

The Seller bought it on BAT in 2017 and has been trying to sell it for over a year. He wanted $27k, but has slowly lowered his asking price. Seeing what people are paying for tiis these days, I too thought it would have sold by now. Maybe Buyers want a USA tii, not a Euro one.

Here's the old BAT listing,

Les,

Don’t you have anything earlier than 2017 on this car? My recollection — however befuddled it might be at times — is that this car has either been bouncing around for years, or has been listed many times. I even have vague memories of it being mentioned here in one thread or another.

I believe I recall this car because it’s always too cheap, but never seems to sell!

Best regards,

Steve

I was super tempted on this until I looked at the old BaT listing. It looks like a million projects to sort out with oil leaks, rusty spots on the frame, doors, snorkel, crap shock tower repair, that weirdo distributor system, etc etc.

That’s fun and all... just seems like this one gets bought with good intentions, but then doesn’t get the love it needs and sits...

I think this is true, Les. Based on what I’ve seen, U.S. buyers want to buy a U.S.-spec tii and then convert it to Euro specs.... 😯

Best regards,

Steve

Steve,

I just posted the BAT auction as there were more pics and info. However, …….

Apr '92 - Roundel Seller, Frankfort, KY.

Apr-Jun '08 - Craigslist Seller, Russ Reynolds, Lake Stevens, WA (owned car 5 years)

Jul '14 - Ebay & Craigslist Seller, Bremerton, WA (owned car 10 years, so assume same Family as previous Seller??)

Aug '16 - BAT Seller, Ryan, Menifee, CA (owned 2 years)

Aug '17 - BAT Seller, Adam of 129Euro.com, Maryville, TN - car sold to current Owner-Seller

Current Owner has had it on Ebay several times since Jul '18.
