e21 steel wheels $60

Recommended Posts

Price: $60
Location: Kingston, Wa.

Description:

ET 18 and 5 1/2" wide.

These wheels came mounted on my car when I bought it and fit okay with the 185/70/13 tires that are still on them.

The tires are tired, as is the paint, but the wheels are straight.   The tires hold air, but are due for replacement.

These look the same as late-style 2002 steelies, but are half an inch wider, with a slightly wider offset.

Asking $60  for the set.

Local pick up, or meet up.  I don't want to ship them.

I now disagree with some of the timing advice I have given in the past.  I misinterpreted the distributor curves in the Blue Book.

I've switched from using ported-vacuum to manifold, with better results.

I apologize for spreading misinformation.

I've had interest in these, but no plans for pickup, or payment.

Hoping to find a local buyer.

Thanks,

Tom

I realize this ad is almost 2 years old, but it is one of the first hits in a Google search and the ad isn't marked that the wheels are sold.  By chance do you still have these for sale? Located a ferry ride away in Edmonds.

Wow, time flies.  These wheels found a new home, along with the turbines I was selling at the same time.  The same person bought both sets.

I apologize for not marking them sold.  I've done that now.

Welcome to the FAQ.  Hopefully we'll meet at one of the local 2002 events some day.

Thanks.  Actually been a member for quite a while. Been inactive since I sold my cars when I moved to the PNW in 2011. Trying to ship 3 non-op project vehicles just wasn't feasible. Be great to meet up with fellow enthusiasts.  I'll keep my eyes on the calendar.

They were okay, but the increased scrub radius requires a little more effort.  The stock offset feels a little lighter.  You do get more road feedback from the e21 wheels and they fill out the fenders nicely.  A previous owner had rolled the front fender lips a bit, so they didn't rub, aside from the occasional tiny bit when turning and hitting the right bump.

@'76mintgrün'02 I know these were sold a while back. How did you like the combo of e21 steelies and 185/70/13 tires on your 02? I'm considering the same set up, so would be interested to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

If you decide you want to give them a shot, I’ve got a set that I’d let go of very cheaply!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
