Tii struts

I heard a rumor that some company might be checking into producing a copy of the tii struts with the larger spindle bearings. Has anyone else heard this? I would buy this if the price was reasonable.

I doubt the price would be "reasonable."  I've spoken with Angelo at ANZE and David at Snapdragon; Angelo said the early 911 guys were trying to get him to reproduce some of their struts, he didn't think it was worth it- and those guys are playing with stupid money.  Snapdragon wanted $1450 to weld new tubes onto my existing stub axles for a different strut insert...

Beyond that, my feeling is that there's a LOT of liability involved...

I really need to list my MCS 2WNR on tii spindles for sale.

As this is an 'active' part of the suspension, the Products Liability rates for insurance are likely too high for a small shop to take on.  If a company that makes struts and hubs in the course of things, adds a 2002tii component, then the cost of risk is already baked into the cake.

Does anyone know where I might find them? I have the inserts, just need the spindles that take the larger bearings. Please let me know if you know of a pair for sale. Thanks

Thanks for the reply's. I think you both are right. Liabilities would be the problem.

I'm sure someone will sell a set, but the price is likely to be north of a grand for a good set. Back before the 320i went to the small bearing hubs the tii struts were the only way to get larger front brakes with out going completely off the reservation and assembling you own mix and match style, other than that the regular struts will do just fine ( many members here use the stock ones on there race cars) and there are now many ways to increase the brake size on the stock struts for way less moneys.
