Two sets of wheels for pickup in Burlington, NC. 

 

4 New 13” 2002 steel wheels just received from Germany. I paid $377 delivered. I will take $250 for the set. Would be perfect for a restoration.  Never had tires mounted on them. 

 

4 13” 2002 steel wheels with older Michelin MXV tires. Price lowered to $150 obo picked up. 

 

Pickup only in Burlington, NC.

How old are the Michelin tires, any sign of dry rot? Would you drive on them?

 

In Raleigh, interest in having a winter set.

I’m not sure of age but they came with a car I bought about 5 years ago. There is some minor dry rot. I would use them in town without reservation but not for long trips.

If it helps, there is a manufacture date on each tire. I've attached a picture for reference but it basically indicates the week number and year.

I just looked and there is no such stamp on these tires. They have good tread and hold air but there is some dry rot. If concerns, I would suggest new tires. I would be comfortable in town but not on interstate as I mentioned. I’m sorry I don’t have more information.

You might try looking on the other side of the tires.  The DOT date code has been required on any tire sold in the U.S. since the early 1980’s.  And many tires sold only outside the U.S. employ the same system because other countries require date codes on all tires.

There is nothing in the format shown. Each tire has a series of numbers that differs flowing a DOT stamp. Here is one for example.

I have a perfect set of e21 steelies with 09 Summitomos that rarely saw light of day. They would be perfect but I’m not ready to part with those.

Not according to my knowledge, 41st week of the 1st year of the decade, no way of knowing what decade.  Convention wisdom says if the date code has only three numbers, they are old.  Pre 2000

Just want a set to put on for the winter months when I drive less.  Just to avoid flat spots on my summer set.
