I made this piece this afternoon, it came out pretty well, I just have some more weld grinding to do. It will hold an Optima or other similar sized battery. The little circle depression and hole in the middle is a drain, the whole panel has a slight curve that will channel any water to that point. I'll probably be making plexiglas quarter windows and I'm just being cautious in case they ever leak.

This shot shows the benefit of the work, I've made a low, flat platform for the battery; it also shows the mild contour which will direct water to the drain

If so, good. Because acid vapors will leave deposits all around the battery. And breathing acid vapors is not good...

And they have to be metal to metal.

If the battery is beyond a firewall, then only 2 points are required. At least in my regulations.
