Description:

Hi Guys its been a while since I've posted on this forum. I'm still an NK lover, but have been seriously busy with other projects. I still have my 1800NK, 2000TI NK, a US 2000 S14 NK, and a 2000 NK.

Well I have posted the 2000 NK for sale. I thought I would give you guys a heads up. It is a nice Car. I need the room in my shop. Here is the link to the ebay listing.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-BMW-Other/183746792010

I'm selling it for a reasonable price. I hope someone who wants a nice vintage car at a reasonable price wilI pick it up. I have listed it with no reserve starting at $7500. It is a 1966 2000NK I've owned for a good part of 8-9 years.

I have gone through this car and its a solid runner. Replaced all of the steering bushings and had the numbers matching motor rebuilt. It just needs paint and a dash top refurb. BMW shows this car as a 1966 2000 NK that was painted Chamonix. Well this car was never Chamonix. It has always had the tilux upgrades on it since Ive had it and the chassis was orignally Polaris neu. I purchased it that way. So either someone purchased a Chamonix 2000 and then converted it to a Polaris tilux or??? anyway I won't make false claims about anything so you be the judge. There are pics on the ebay ad and i'll post a few here.

Here is what I had replaced, refurbished last year:

Car is an excellent driving car.
The following maintenance was performed on this car in 2018.
Rebuilt numbers matching engine
Replaced steering bushings and center control arm
Replaced lower control arm subframe bushings
Replaced lower ball joints
New Bilstein rear Shocks
Repacked all bearings
Brake service performed (New brake pads), New soft lines all around
Bled brakes
Serviced rear Stub axel assemblies and installed new CV joint boots (Proper clear boots with oil bath for needle bearings)
Serviced rear differential (oil)
Serviced transmission, replaced trans fluid
Recored radiator
Replaced all hoses, belts, motor mounts
Replaced alternator
Rebuilt Solex carburetors
New tires
Rewrapped Engine bay Wire harness
InStalled new headliner
Installed factory sport steering wheel
Installed period Marchal Fog lamps
Refurbished proper 5 1/2x 14" steel wheels
Refurbished proper ether line to temp gauge and multi gauge

Any questions PM me.

Thanks

Rey

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
