Well, now that IS interesting. 10k is a lot yes, but if it's electronically adjustable...

I don't have the money but that is one sexy fuel injection pump!!!

Too bad it's a 6 cylinder or the Tii owners here would be in line to buy!

Yup- when EProduction required "original type'" fuel injection, I was going to

gut a tii pump and replace the cone and clockspring with a servo.

It wouldn't have cost $1k to do it, and then use Megasquirt as the controller.

But we can use 'any type' now, so the pumps went to fund other projects...

Is that what it said? Not that I speak German but I thought it said that it had been adjusted (with the aid of) electronics. More like a tune up using a AFR meter than a MFI equivalent of a 123Tune distributor?

The KFish pump as a fuel delivery system is brilliant.

Its Achilles' heel is air/fuel ratio.

Add a modernish, multi- sensor programmable controller,

and it is going to be noticeably better than EFI, due to the high system pressures.

No, it's not going to do anything for your resale value, but it

WILL find more power, and critically, it will be able to accurately fuel engines

built to the limits of racing rules.

dosn't sprekenzie Detuch either.

Fuel capacity of the fuel plunger valve and stroke will be the limit if not tossed an an electronically controlled valve replaces it.  The KF pump is simply an adaptation of Robert Bosch diesel injection pumps of the early 1950s design.

A radiator shop is a good place to take a leak.

I have no idea what I'm doing but I know I'm really good at it.

Not really the design is completely different in the way the fuel amount is controlled.

Understood, but the what I said about the fuel capacity limit is there.  Both control the volume of injection by the rotary valve/rack concept.

Dunno how far it needs to go but the race pump that i had (F2 spec) had larger parts in this regard and i was quoted it had capability up to 400 hp.

What Gordon Jones found was that the stock system could supply the raw fuel for a Production engine,

but he couldn't get it to do so accurately at all ranges.  It could go flat out, or it could meter OK at

midrange revs, but couldn't do both.

And yeah, the real unobtanium race pumps had increased delivery volume.

Or you could just run it faster!!!!

'lost squirt technology' anyone?

heh

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
