Any special last model year parts on a 1976 02?

On newer BMWs I know that BMW has at times added special "goodies" at the end of their production of a model. I bought a very rusty 76 02 yesterday for parts, does a 76 have anything special?

3.9 dif, if not CA.


164 vac advance distributor, if not CA.

 

#5 camshaft, if not CA.

 

Intermittent wipers

 

Comfy foamy steering wheel grip.

     DISCLAIMER -- I now disagree with much of the timing advice I have given in the past.  I misinterpreted the distributor curves in the Blue Book as timing maps for our engines.  I've also switched from using ported-vacuum to manifold, with better results.  I apologize for spreading misinformation.

Two things:

Supposedly the last 200 US spec 76s were stick shift, Polaris silver sunroof cars, with a red (real) leather interior and soup dish alloy wheels.  I've never seen one in person, but there's an end-of-production '76 automatic, silver with a red leather interior, in the Indianapolis area.  

 

The brake bias valve was fitted only to the '76s.  It's the small metal box near the master cylinder with both brake lines and wires emerging from it.  It'll turn on the dashboard brake fluid reservoir warning light if it senses a significant difference in pressure between the dual brake systems, which would indicate a leak.

I also heard the sunroofs on these final cars were electric, not manual. Since I’ve never laid eyes on one of these unicorns, it’s hard to know what to believe.

Like Tom mentioned above, for the 49-state 3.90:1 diff and output flanges.  But don't forget those '76 rear inner CV joints too  - which are thicker (like the '79-only e21 inner CVs) - and don't require the use of spacers when swapping in the later ('79 and up) narrower e21 LSD.  And the brake-bias valve that Mike mentioned for adjusting front/rear bias (like for big brake upgrades), is a pretty slick '76-only part.

Wow, my '76 came with an s14 and a bunch of other crap- maybe I got the special Freedom Anniversary edition...  Which reminds me, I need to get that thing through emissions.  Too bad it's not a '75.

No, the CA version had the old camshaft. The #5 went into the 49-state versions, with the then-new E21 head and the 3.90 differential.
