My first “mod”, a Heuer stopwatch on the dash

This stopwatch finally arrived after getting lost in the mail. I’m a watch enthusiast and a big Heuer fan, but my cars have always been too modern for a Heuer stopwatch to look correct. When I got the ‘02 I vowed to at last put one in and I have.

Double sided "gorilla tape." I'm using it to test out the positioning before I put a hole in the dash for a proper mount.

If you would like, let me know the outside diameter and the thickness of the clock.  I can draw up a holder for it to hang on the dash.  You can 3D print the thing.  No need to make a hole.

They're typically mounted on a plate/bracket that then gets mounted to the dash.

That's very generous of@tsingtao_1903 regarding 3D printing.

Nice! Love the look, not so much the price.

Get creative and fabricate a mount with no drilling.

Actually I got my hands on the timer in my OP (not the ones you posted, those are nutso pricing thanks to collectors) for about $75.

The design is still a bit clunky - still need some tuning.  It will hook onto the lip of the dash and provide a place for the stopwatch.

That’s amazing! I didn’t think you were going to start on it until I gave you some measurements. Did you find some online? Regardless I will go measure the watch today.

The "pocket" for the watch is made up.  Please give me the dimensions.  I'll tweak the design to fit the watch.  For now, the model is only to show concept.  I will be printing it out this weekend to make sure the hook feature fits correctly.

The diameter of the watch is 53mm, the depth is trickier because the back is slightly convex. The case the watch came in, which was pretty snug, reaches a depth of 14mm.

ETA: Also, if you can, angling the mount slightly up for improved readability would be great. The first place I tried mounting mine with the tape was right in the center of the dash, next to the shifter diagram, and I found that that area of the dash is actually tilted a couple degrees downward, which makes it harder to read the upper quarter of the watch.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
