Paul,

Looking forward to meeting you at the Vintage this year.  Didn't have a chance to meet you at the 2017 Vintage because you were always surrounded by people and didn't want to butt in. I'll be there with my Red Tii.

Best regards,

Glen

Congratulations Paul! I think that is how I met you, buying parts from you. Now please hit the books and make sure you learn about what you will be selling...?

You are SUCH a jerk, Robert! I'm gonna squeeze the stuffing outta you at The Vintage. You've been warned.

One request... I know profit is required in business, but the shipping charges to me seem very high.

Congrats and will look for something to order ?

Occasionally, if items from an order drop ship from different locations, those charges tend to add up. In the future, I hope to have a little more control over these charges and can potentially credit portions of them. It will definitely be among my goals - to offer prices that (even including shipping) are still exceptional.

Your 2002cat is WAY more aggressive than my 2002cat. Mine had her brain installed upside down at the factory. She'll lie like this for hours. The Service and warranty department stopped returning my calls months ago.

Congratulations, Paul.  I think this is what you were destined to do.  I restored my tii the first time 20 years ago talking to you and Carl Nelson, my two parts go-tos, 5 minutes at a time.  If I can get off my butt and get my re-fresh going (the dive to strip it all down for paint is daunting), I'm sure we'll have quite a few more 5 minute conversations.

sounds great!

I sure hope the web site gets a reboot.

I plan on many improvements. Right now, the limiting factor is BMW's database and parts diagrams. There are a few holes and flaws in the application / data columns as well as incorrect or missing illustrations. I always recommend that people e mail me directly when seeking parts for the classic/vintage models. I can compare the modern information with that in my old analog parts books to verify fitment and price. I also hope to improve overall navigation and shopping cart dynamics in the coming weeks/months.

ALSO OF INTEREST - all the prices listed are strictly for GENUINE BMW PARTS. We offer a complete catalog of many OEM / aftermarket parts (Ate hydraulic parts, Lemförder suspension parts, Bosch, Meyle, Uro, SKF, FAG, Beru, etc...) that are of high quality at far lower prices than those listed. I like the Genuine stuff best, but there's no way I'm paying $277 for a tie rod! When in doubt, send me a direct e mail and I can offer options on most things.

classicbmwparts@gmail.com "attn Paul" will get to me quickly.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
