Instrument Panel connection?

Hi, I pull my instrument panel to replace bulbs and clean the glass. I see this strange connector on the back. Anyone know what it's purpose is? I don't see any male cable to attach.

Cheers

As shown, the middle pin is ground, the lower pin is switch power tied to the panel light, and the top pin is hot.  (I think the dash unit is upside down in the picture).

On 1600's (and automatic 2002s) with a binnacle clock instead of a tach, that's where the clock plugs in.
