1967 2000C project for sale

Hello All,

i was referred to the site by a friend in order to sell my 1967 BMW 2000C “project”. I’ll try to keep the explanation short. I purchased the car online in 2013 from a seller in the Northwest with the intent to restore the car. When I was ready to restore the car, I turned the car over to a restorer (introduced through a “friend”) who disassembled the vehicle to get it prepped for the body work/paint and sent the engine/transmission to LaJolla BMW (in So Cal) to get them professionally rebuilt (which they were-at a cost of $6886 -in Nov 2015-I have the receipts), and then....nothing. The guy held my disassembled car at his garage for over 2 years making excuse after excuse until I finally got all the parts and body out of there and into my garage where they now occupy space.

I’m not mechanical, not in the same financial position as I was, and not as passionate about the car as I was a couple years ago. It’s time for this 1967 BMW 2000C to go to someone who will do something with this car as it’s a shame for a rare car such as this to be gathering dust. Below I have pics of the car when I got it and the car in present condition. I’m open to offers on the car, just please keep in mind that besides the cost of the actual car, I have 7 grand in the engine and transmission. When the car was taken apart it was already missing metal trim around the two side windows and 1-2 hubcaps as well as a few knobs in the interior so it should pretty much be all there though I have done (nor would I know how to) inventory what I currently have. Please email me any reasonable offers or questions that I do the best I can to answer.

Thanks,

Robert

What a shame, Robert... I can understand why your enthusiasm would waver after two years and a box of parts to show for it.  I've posted this thread over on the e9 forum as well, hopefully you'll get someone interested from over there (lots more Coupe-related traffic, but you have to be a member to post threads).  I've also forwarded this link to several early Coupe guys.

I'm in the process of reassembling my '67, 2000CS, so I can feel your pain, looking at all those boxes of parts.

Hopefully, it will sell quickly,

Ed

I lived through a similar experience and somehow made it out the other side with my sanity and passion intact. I feel for you, as that is my dream build right there. I let two of those pass through my hands once,

and have regretted it from the moment they left. Good luck with the sale.
