Turbo steel wheel correct colors?

I wish they still made the 235/60/13 and the 215/60/13 CN36 Pirellis.  The 235/60 was a very tall tire for a 2002 but it was great on a Big Fendered Ford Capri or Sunbeam Tiger.  The 215/60/13 on 7"-8" wheels would fit great on a Turbo.

There are a couple of Michelin R compound tires that would fill our fenders very nicely but they are more like a Intermediate rain tire and about $350 ea.  There used to be some great choices of 13" tires back when our cars were new (I worked at a tire shop that was the largest Pirrelli P7 dealer in the US in 1975)

There is the totally period correct 185/70 VR 13 Pirelli CN36  Cooker and Longstone sell them.

Still only 185/70, but besides the excellent Pirelli CN36 (currently $160 at Longstone) and the Michelin XDX (currently $309), Uli A. (forum member uai, an extremely-respected, performance-minded ‘02 colleague from Germany) highly praises the Avon CR6ZZ (currently $262).

These are three great choices for a turbo owner wishing to maintain the factory tire size: the Pirelli and Michelin are perfectly period-appropriate; I don’t know about the Avon.

Steve

The wheels look great! It is amazing how colors vary in lighting, that is one of the struggles we had when choosing the colors because we only had pictures to look at. Your wheels turned out really great. Is you car finished or is the whole car having work done? Thanks for sending the pictures of your wheels.  Fares

+1

You have exceeded the factory’s 1975 finish standards by a factor of three! ?

Are you, per chance, a “British car enthusiast”? I’ve only previously seen Blockley’s on vintage British cars, in Britain.

Just the wheels since I managed to source a set of original 2002 Turbo wheels from Sweden to replace the aftermarket ones fitted.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
