Price: $1000
Location: Santa Clara, CA

Description:

FAQers,

Up for sale is a set of BBS wheels. They are the 15" Euro sport wheels offered on the E30s of the day. The wheels are the same width front and rear, however the rears are a slightly lower offset with a much wider lip. These wheels were factory gold in color, as are three of the caps. One cap has been painted to match, and the paint is starting to peel (will need touching up). These wheels are uncommon these days, they look great on 2002s and E30s. The specs are as follows:

Fronts: 15x7 et24 BBS RZ348

Rears: 15x7 et20 BBS RZ378

Tires: 205 50 15s Dunlops

The tires are useable as is. 1 rear tire is new, the other is at 30% (with a nail dead center), and the fronts are at 60% tread. The tires area Dunlop Direzzas. The tires will be included at no additional cost. The wheels are in 8/10 condition. There is some curbing that can be sanded down, and a few small imperfections on the deeper wheels lips. but it is all correctable if you wanted these wheels perfect.

With Euroweaves over $350 each without the cap (new) and back ordered, and the deeper wheels NLA, this set is worth cleaning up, it is a very unique set. Fitting these under fenders should not be an issue. Depending on your suspension set up, a 195 may be required or rolled rear fenders. Again this package should fit as is for most 2002 applications (considering that the white 2002 pictured below is wearing 16x7/8 Alpinas with 215s under factory fenders).

$1000 picked up in Santa Clara, CA.

I will consider shipping them if there is no local interest.

If there is no local interest and you are willing to ship I’m interested.

For sure. I’ll give it a couple of days and then grab quotes. The tires will likely need to be removed for shipping to keep costs low.

Sounds good.  No worries on the tires, better to have lower shipping costs plus I have some 195's I can put on them.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
