One of the over the road truckers my company used had a surplus aircraft clock in his truck, while going through customs at the US/Canada boarder the radium paint on the hands set off the radiation alarms and it's safe to say all hell broke loose, flashing lights, alarms, very excited men in yellow contamination suits and so on.  altitude.jpg

I was able to sneak in a touchscreen and a Raspberry Pi that I will be using to display data from my EFI system.  You can use a PI for pretty much anything.

One of my plans is to hack the Waze App (api) to shake my seat if there is a cop reported nearby, or on my route.   Lots of other stuff as well, but alas I must get it on the road.

The black button is for my trunk opener.

Along those lines, I want to use this

to send data to an HUD. So far the company has yet to respond to my email wrt how they would suggest making it work.

Cheers,

The link below will allow you to install Android on a Pi with access to the google store, which gives you waze and everything else.  From reading it seems to be a good call to go with the Pi4.

The output from this is HDMI, so you can just plug it into a generic HUD.   You will want to follow this guide below to have the app automatically open on startup.

What is Android auto start app? How to Enable Auto-start Apps in Android 10/9/8? In this post, we will show you the full ways to solve this problem.

Sensortap software can be downloaded to the PI via the playstore.

Something like this item below will give you GPS.
