From a July 1967 1600-2 brochure, not a great image, but something...

 

Second small vignette from the left.

 

I’m fairly confident my ‘67 had this style boot, and that was back in the day.

Thanks, @freak02! They don't mention the '02 but it looks very similar so I grabbed it.

 

@hellayego, I first learned of the 'horned' parking brake cover on the '66 Bible thread on the UK forum. My car is a mid-'67 so they might have switched over to the regular style by then. I don't have a period picture that's better than Steve's but you can see one peeking out on this very original '67--

well here is what I have... it looks similar but different where the handle comes out of the boot.  This was taken off a 68' 1600 that I had very little history of as I wasn't the po.  let me know if this is helpful.
