Dash ground question

I took apart my dash today to try and hunt down a bad ground. there was a ground wire going from the back of the temperature/gas gage area from one of the studs in the center area to the frame of the car? Is this supposed to be there? From the quality of the connections it looks suspicious. Thanks

02's infamous twiching temp and gas gauge problems. It should connect to two of the little brass nuts that hold the two gauges into their mounting board, with the other end fastening to a good clean body ground.

One of the wires (a brown one) in the multiprong cluster is the factory ground, but for some reason it doesn't do a very good job with those two gauges. If you don't like the looks of the existing aux ground, renew it.

Cheers

Mike

Thanks for all the information. My temp gage twitches when my turn signals are on, fan is on ect. My gas gage twitches from time to time as well. Hopefully putting a better ground on this helps fix this.
