73 tii bumper mount to fender

Another bumper question.

I am mounting the bumper and drilling the holes for the m8 bolts that go from the bumper to the fenders. I only recall it being a couple of washers and a bolt. Am I missing something ? A rubber mount? Anyone with a picture of this mount? FYI its a 73 so the bumper sits off of the body compared to the older ones.

thanks

They may not be perfect, but sources such as RealOEM.com are your friends!

Select “Classic” and owners of pre-1974 cars should know their car’s production month in advance.

You’ll need items 8 (rubber washer) through 13.

Regards,

Steve

This looks like the rear bumper extension.  Need to wash your car and do something about that zip tie.

I looked at the front also.

Thanks for not mentioning the quarter lip rust! :D

I have a new euro rubber, with fasteners, to replace that rubber. I broke the fastener on that piece reinstalling it after paint.

I have the quarter lip replacement piece also ?

I've had success with using a bench mounted grinder on black, rubber sway bar end link bushings for a "you can't tell" work-around solution to bumper mounting bushings. I just gently grind them down to the height I want. looks factory when done carefully.

Trying not to overindulge in constructive criticism.  All the rubber trim hardware broke when I removed it from my tii in 2006. Bloody expensive stuff from BMW - even back then.

In the rear, ONE rubber washer.

In the FRONT, two rubber washers.

But that's only if you run into an evil concours judge and you want to be correct.

Mac.

I'm safe, then!

You’re safe, Ray, because:

(a.) correct OEM rubber washers, in the correct numbers, are in place at each corner, or...

(b.) you’re not about to allow an evil concours judge near your car?  ?

Best regards,

Steve

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
