wife and son bring lots of floppies home. Anyway I have fancy nortons pro edition, on desktop for whatever reason a floppy was giving me trouble so I started to scan them all look good, so I scan the one that I was not sure about, but this time I did it on my laptop, the laptop has a older version of nortons 2 or 3 years old guess what it found 3 diferent viruses. My newer updated all the time norton didn't, then I scanned all the floppies again on the laptop and it found another one with a virus. That really sucks because If you have the latest product from the company and is not working, makes it really hard. Now no one can put floppies in until they are all scanned first twice.

There are alternatives out there. Norton eats way too many system resources for my taste. I use McAffee at work, and it's pretty piggy too...

Others I reccomend, PCCIllin (sp?), and I use Panda Titanium at home, which seems to be fast, non-intrusive and very effective.

I'm such a geek I even have a laptop in the garage (POS) which runs the repair manual CD and connects to my wireles network so I can hit the board while I"m working on the car!
