can you share your experience? I have a pair of rebuilt PHH that sometime, eventually, maybe I will get around to fitting. Always interested in war stories.

The poster seems to have experience (neither I nor Franz Bammert at FCC Dobbs Ferry in '73) had much knowledge but the blue factory manual has all you need and kits are available. You need the factory vacuum balance tool (same used on the Bavarias) to cross adjust them otherwise no big deal.

 

Add to required the manifolds one of which is part of the linkage.

 

Mine were running OK in the famous $600 6-volt '661800ti and when rebuilt, etc and swapped into a '73 2002 did seem to put out the advertised 118 hp but were intractable as a daily driver and fuel consumption dropped to 16mpg. I also tore up a guibo getting on it. Remember 1974? Gas lines and rationing.

 

But O the sound. You didnt have to race the Alfas and Porches, just rev a little at the stoplight

 

 

sadly went back to the original Solex,Mounted on the manifolds they made a handsome set of bookends that I sold to a FAQ er 3 years ago so I know they are out there somewhere.

My final 2002 is a tii and I'm done with messing around. I have a $500 '92 300TE beater I'm working on just because.
