FS: Original seats from a '76 in good condition

Price: $250
Location: Seattle

Description:

I'd like to sell the original seats from my 1976 2002.  They are in pretty good shape, with only normal wear, but no torn seams or damage.   I'd prefer a local-ish to Seattle delivery, but can get a shipping estimate if there is enough interest.

It doesn't alter the value, but these seats started life in a 1974: widespread headrest supports, 7 pleats, and the flat panel 2/3rds way up the backrest all say “1974”.

GLWS,

Steve

Cool!  That is great to know!

BTW in case anyone is curious, I had a local (Seattle) upholstery shop replace them with Procar-90 seats and then rebuild/recover the rear seats in matching vinyl and stitching.  Recaro's would have been a fair bit more expensive and I liked how these looks reasonably period correct-ish.    https://procarbyscat.com/product/pro-90-series-1300/

Hi, I am very interested in these seat if you would be willing to ship them to me.  I am working on a 1974, black interior and these would do the trick.  Not sure what shipping something of this size involves but am willing to look into it if you are willing.  Let me know.  Thank you.

I'm open to shipping but have zero idea what it would entail at the moment.  I'll see if I can get some kind of a quote.

Hi again,  I just found a service through Greyhound that would ship them at a reasonable cost.  About $150 total.  Would you be willing to drive to a Greyhound station to drop them off.  I could find out where the closes one is.  Feel free to email me at cm.borges@yahoo.com if that is easier.  My name is Carlos.

Thanks

I’ve received front and rear seats through Greyhound. Just wrap them well in layers of bubble wrap and tape, folded over (forward) to the extent possible.

Regards,

Steve

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
