Sorry to hear about this.

Maybe I just don't trust people but... I find it slightly opportunistic that it was stolen at just the right time when you both were away.

Tragic!

I hope somehow you find it..I love the patina on that car and the fact you've driven it all over the country!

Stories like yours is the reason I'm putting LoJack AND GPS trackers + FULL coverage in my recently aquirred tii...

AND call a good cop...

Like Detective Joe Kenda..He always gets his man in Colorado....on the ID Channel..

I keep thinking about that... As we left on our trip I just had a feeling someone was watching.

Sad to say, but there's dishonest 02 'ers out there with cars they parted

and still have Titles with vin plates, door locks, ignition (and keys).

Pretty easy to pop new ID on car and re-register your "old 02"

and just paint the stolen one the color of your junker, and grind/remove the vin stamp.

Aren't there a few active parters in Boulder area ????

Good luck, hope you catch them and fry them !!

Tonight the thieves were arrested and the car returned.

The culprits go by "Waldo" and "Sunshine". Classic Boulder.

The front bumper is mangled, but at least it's back.

Never thought it could be so depressing to lose a car, but it's almost like family at this point. Thanks for the help everyone.

Now to look into theft-proofing...

No... From what I gather they had intended to use it to travel the country and visit a long list of concerts...

Sounds like the plot to a Cheech and Chong movie.

Cheech and Chong  in "Up in Smoke"

vs

Waldo and Sunshine in "These cuffs are tight"

Both movies have happy endings...

But only one was funny....

That's awesome and amazing for you... You must be so relieved!

How far away were they when they were tracked down? Or should I say how high?
