Interesting Fog Light set-up

Round usually work in conjunction with the high beams, fogs work with low beams.

As you likely know, fog lights should be mounted as low as possible, especially, if possible, below the bumper.  But if you, like I, don’t like to slow down for bumps, driveways, curbs, etc., you want a light with the least “drop” from the bumper.  So....you wind up with rectangular fog lights below the bumper.

 

But....for your driving lights, you want big and round, because they have the best range.

 

Thus....you very easily wind up with the “round-above-rectangular-below” configuration.  ?

It looks like the fog lights are set up at a  outward angle to light the edge of the road when cornering or maybe they just got bumped, from the picture the round light on the right is definitely a driving light and the one on the left looks to be a pencil beam,  I can't say definitely from the picture, but that would be the optimum set up for a left hand drive car.

The corner placement is interesting- I also have rectangle lower fogs as, to me, the logic made sense. I have a switch on top of the steering column which turns on the upper fogs with the high-beams, and a pull switch for the lower fogs in place of the dummy switch by the gauges. The upper fogs project a wide, narrow band of light and the lowers are more fill.
