Electrical question

Symptoms:

The following things happen when I accelerate the engine:

1. The dash lights get brighter;

2. The temp gauge wobbles;

3. The headlights get brighter;

The temp gauge is a recent development. At first I thought maybe it is a grounding issue, but then I wondered if it could be the alternator? Perhaps it's not something to worry about?

Any advice appreciated.

IT CAN DAMAGE YOUR BATTERY AND SHORTEN THE LIFE OF YOUR ALTERNATOR .

TEST THE SYSTEM WITH A VOLT METER . I SUSPECT THE VOLTS ARE GOING WAY HIGH . THEY SHOULD BE BELOW 14v

EVEN WHEN YOU REV THE MOTOR .

IT IS SIMPLE TO REPLACE . IT IS THE BIG BOX LOCATED

ABOVE THE BATTERY . JUST REMOVE / UNPLUG IT AND REPLACE . I DON'T THINK NEW ONES ARE VERY EXPENSIVE .

I bought a new one from Bimmer Parts Company last year, it's a Bosch unit and has the white tape at the base, which is the direct replacement.
