Has anyone seen a carb set up? Would love to start running an M42/44 with a 38DGAS and crank ignition.

Thanks

Since the M42/44 was created as a fuel injected engine from the beginning, finding an intake manifold for carbs might be hard to come by. (I could be wrong)  It sounds like it would be an interesting idea though.

Custom side draft manifold can’t be that hard to make. Get the head flange plasma cut from aluminium, you can buy Weber flanges pre-made and find someone to stitch them together with thick wall aluminium tube.

I have have no idea if there are any coolant passages to address but if you get some pictures, I am sure we can collectively ‘armchair jockey’ our way through it.

side drafts I can understand for throttle response, performance, noise and the period look, but why would you want to ditch an efficient fuel injection for a downdraught?
