Lord only knows I have plenty of other issues to deal with this car.....ordered this up before Christmas and decided to put off shipping during the holidays....DHL guy dropped off earlier today.  Quite pleased, the devils in the details.  I believe they had the BmW Roundel painted white or silver, not so sure about doing that, no expansion tank on the water pipe (they did away with that later as well and mounted one remotely (3.0CS)....1974 ---------> 2018.

No, it has an air box - a face plate that mates up with the stacks and then a glass air box that attaches to that - filter element at the bulkhead and some hose that attaches from there to the air box.  This is what the motor looked like in 1975 (no badge, gold valve cover <I think>, expasnion tank gone, radiator in the front now).  Little 'divot' in the air box matches up with the strut bar, engine is a little rocked back without the trans in place.

Mark, that is an incredibly beautiful motor. I believe that the Schnitzer and BMW roundel would look best in white so as to have greater contrast with the Alpina emblem. I hope that I get to hear this motor run, it will be Holy Grail like. Best regards, Peter

Thanks Peter.  I am looking forward to that day as well.  Sooo much to do though, but I keep after it.  It is a special car.  In the event you haven't seen these before, re-post.  The engine has a fairly 'mild' tune, compression is below 11 and the cams aren't crazy + I have a 9,000 rpm rev limiter.  We ended up making 270hp at 8400rpm, plenty for an 1800 pound car + I don't have the bank account to be back inside  the motor every 15 or 20 hours (which is the deal with motors that are visiting +9000 at a regular basis....).  Cheers.
