rear spring absorbers

hello 02 people.has anybody ever replaced the rear spring absorbers.i have spent a few hours trying to muscle these on to their holders.the holes on these rubber stops is around 16mm and the mushroom head is about 29mm that it fits over. has anyone found  a trick on how to get these over the mushroom head.any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks mark!

I just did that when installing 3 dot pads.

I used spit.  

 

Plus, pushed it on, tipped to one side, then twisted it like threading a screw.

They went right on that way for me.

Use more lube.

Dishes soap (washing up liquid) first,

then snot (wire pulling lube) if that doean't work.

 

Oh, swearing helps, too.

 

They're called bump stops here...

Just did this last week after pulling them off to evaluate. A little silicone spray and bingo.
