Coming over from e30 325is. Any red flags with this 2002 turbo replica?

No pics of motor. Inner fenders are red. What color is the trunk?

 

Interior door handles swapped left to right. 

 

No shots of typical rust areas. Non-factory red interior. U.S. parking lights on "euro tribute" car.

 

DOT rear side markers on "euro tribute" car.

 

(Correct rear license plate lights and euro style bumper).

 

Go see. If you like it, buy it.

A bit like a "Drag Queen Cher" might look good on the outside but what's underneath could be a bit of a shocker.  I would hope that a "Turbo tribute" car would at least have a turbo. I'm not trying to knock it at all, just not enough info to make any kind of informed decision.

That front spoiler meets up with the fender flare a little funny. Or is that how they are supposed to be?  I remember they looked kind of seamless....

Except they did not blend-in the nose when it was replaced atop next to the turn signals and the tricolor stripe at the rear is not level.

Well, it did say it was just a tribute. To me its fine to have everything BUT the turbo decals on the car. 

If its got a running engine and things were done relatively well, the price sounds fine. Basic price for a running, nice looking 2002 with flares, bumpers and wheels etc.

I don't understand "tributes" and "replicas" 

 

what happened to honesty and authenticity? It's one thing to swap bumpers and signals, but to swap badges and apply factory turbo decals is a bit much. I see this sort of thing more in the UK than the USA in other ranges of vehicles. Mind boggling why people do this.

Sold...  I would have ditched the Turbo tribute decals and painted it Polaris with that red interior.
