BMW CCA forums don't seem very active

Sometimes, members of a club need to reach out to other members to get something started.  My chapter of the CCA has a huge membership but most of them don't attend any events or club sponsored activities.  I try to attend a few things each year but stay swamped at work all year long.

There are many benefits to being a club member, not just receiving the excellent Roundel Magazine, but discounts on parts and services, car and life insurance, car rentals, etc.

To me, owning a Vintage BMW (or two) opens up new friendships and allows you to network with others who share your passion.

I suggest you invite others in a common forum to a "meet and greet" to get the juices flowing.

The national forum is a dead zone.  But that forum is not what you join for.

The magazine, the Oktoberfest events and the local chapter events and forums are where it is at.  NCC chapter is extremely active with a busy online forum, social events, a hotly contested auto-x series, active driving school program and many tech days at local shops.

DIg deeper.

Only forums I visit are the FAQ and e9coupe. Don't care for the E36M3 forum, bimmerforums or BMW CCA.

Is there still a discount when purchasing OEM parts for CCA members?

Show your membership card at the dealer when ordering parts and having your (newer) car serviced. Every bit helps.

I'm going to buy some new E30 steel wheels for my '67 1600 (sorry, I know it's the wrong forum, but you are the guys talking about the CCA when I did a search : ) and was curious as to what percentage dealers offer.

10-20% depends on the dealer. Usually have to inform them them they, the dealer. offer a discount and some will fight you on it.

Thanks for the tip and info, Andrew. Probably won't pull the trigger on the wheels until March, but I will make sure to report back with my findings.

My car came with records dating back to 1970 and there are several receipts in the folder from dealers that have CCA discount noted on them, but only up into the 1990s (it changed owners in 2000 to a non-member).
