75 CA Emission Sticker

Sorry, I know this has been beat to death before, but I’m still looking for a good pic of a 1975 California (not US) Emission sticker.  I have remnants of mine and a partial pic only.  I know the timing should say 2800 rpm and idle CO is different as well.  Thanks for any help.

Not that it helps much, Chris, but there was only one 1975 U.S. version, and it was legal in all fifty states.  So...I’d guess you’re looking for the emissions tuning sticker on any U.S.-spec 2002 manufactured from around September 1, 1974 through around August 31, 1975....

Here’s another thought.  Is it possible that the U.S. supplement of the 1975 model Owner’s handbook (white cover) has all the tuning specs found on the emissions tuning sticker?  If so, and if you can locate a 1975 U.S. supplement, you could then use my 1976 emissions tuning sticker — done for me by Car-Bone out of Poland (forum user - noboco) — as a starting point, replace the 1976 tuning specs with 1975 tuning specs, and eliminate the reference in my 49-State 1976 sticker to California...

Wait...isn’t a 1976 California version the same as any 1975 U.S. model?  I’m pretty certain it is.  If so, find a 1976 model emissions tuning sticker and change the 1976 to 1975.  So you need a legible emissions tuning sticker from any 1975 model, or a 1976 California version....

Best regards,

Steve

The 75 and CA 76 versions were identical when comparing Manual to Manual and Automatic to Automatic, but the Manual cars had vacuum advance/retard distributors and the Automatic cars only had advance distributors.  I don't know if the Automatic cars had a different version of the emission sticker to account for the difference in distributors, but I doubt it.

For the 1975 Manual Car Emission Sticker

Ignition Timing 25 BTDC at 2800 +/- 50 RPM

Adjust Idle CO to 1,0-3,0% at 900 +/- 100 RPM

Regulations Applicable to 1975 Model Year

Thanks Mark, those are the numbers I need.  It is my understanding that automatics got retard as it helps run at idle when in gear, mine was a one owner untouched example.  The correct sticker will have the CA ARB language I need too.

I had a retard installed in my CA-based 75.  It is a standard 4 speed.  I am not sure it is unmolested, but it was of the appropriate vintage.
