UPDATE: 020202 Seattle Event contingency plans for inclement weather

OK Folks, two days to go and it looks like RAIN on Saturday. What a surprise.

 

As a contingency plan, here's what I suggest:

1. If it's a typical on/off, light drizzle type of rain, let's stay at the current boat ramp location

2. If it's a constant stream of rain and it's windy, Patrick at Midnight Motors has graciously offered to host the event at his shop. It'll warm and dry, and let's be honest, most of us would have ended up there anyway. Just park in front of the shop in the parking lot, there will be plenty of room.

NOTE: if this ends up being the case, I'll leave a sign up on one of the trash bins in the middle of the parking lot and I'll hang out there until 10am to direct folks to Patrick's,

It was the best turnout I’ve seen. Wish my car had made it and that I could’ve hung out longer. 

 

I did get a text from Patrick last night absolving me of fault for my mechanical that kept my car from getting to the event; apparently my brake booster failed. It was a 4 year old rebuild and not something I had touched recently.

 

I was blaming the wheel bearing replacement I did a week or so ago, since "what did you touch last?" was as deep as I could get into troubleshooting on the side of 520.

We were at the shop late Saturday night while Patrick was simultaneously installing audio in our Forester and diagnosing your car. I’m glad it was a part failure...

I saw on Instagram that my favorite auto journalist, Sam Smith, visited the event.
