There's really not enough demand...we need to commit 50-100pcs for it to make economic sense...

Hello to everyone.
I am from Austria and i also own a Turbo.
BMW now offers cpl. factory-build turbos for about 5K €.
Can be found on the BMW Classic homepage.
Regards
Markus

Yes, it’s listed, but, no it’s not available. Wish it was.

I just acquired a spare exhaust manifold.  I would be willing to part with it to someone with a real Turbo that needs one.  It is in perfect shape with no cracks, the gasket surfaces are flat with no pitting and the 4 Inconel turbocharger mounting studs are there. I am thinking about having my other spare manifold ceramic coated and I would be happy to do this one as well.

Myself I'm not too much into turbos, always preferred the A4s from Alpina.

But a friend while fetching the turbo seats I redid for him told me yesterday, that they're currently trying to repro a batch of turbo exhaust manifolds.

Lots of 2002turbo experience since the 80s he would be the one for me to ask, should I ever have a question on any detail. I'd estimate he had somewhere in between 50-100 turbos going through his hands over the years - not only a private enthusiast for himself but also an old car's dealer.

If there's any interest here, I can try to follow this project and post here, if there might be a successful outcome. Currently they do have the 3D scans ready and are working on a better alloy (not sure if that's the correct translation / I'm german / "Legierung" is the german word) than the original one, as he has told me.

Best regards, Lars.

Hi Lars,

I am certainly interested, I have repaired manifold for my car now, but something new to eventually replace it would be a good idea.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
