I'm trying to get a temperature check on whether there is any interest in the following:

  1. Two original front seats with solid vinyl, but moderate hinges and springs,  $500 OBO
  2. Four original 13" steel wheels with the "clip-on" chrome outer rings that are in pretty darn good shape.  There are some spots on the wheels where the silver paint is cracking, but no major rust at all.  $300 OBO
  3. One full set of all four original seat belts, where the spring retraction mechanisms still work, but are fairly weak.  $25.00

If you'd like to come take a look in advance of the meet-up let me know.

Come one come all, I know if at least one other who is bringing a car for sale. This would be a good venue to get the right eyeballs on the car.

I’m bringing some random stuff I still need to go through, but will at least have:

-IE stage 2 springs

-IE ceramic coated shorty header and stainless downpipe with O2 sensor bung.

-Bav Auto springs*

*Full disclosure on these springs- the rears sat way lower than the front, even 3 dot spring pads and a 3/4" spacer left the rear lower than the front. For a very low car, the front springs could probably be cut to match the rears.

Trying to find comps is tough, but it looks like new vinyl kits are roughly $500 without the seats.  Given these aren't new vinyl, but in decent shape and include the seats, I'll start it at $500.

I'm interested in the header and downpipe if they are good shape.  Thoughts on price?

Only used for ~2 years, so still in nice shape. I generally go with 1/2 of new for used parts, so $225 ($335 + $117).

Sold!  Now I'll just need the section from the downpipe back from @Ireland Engineering to be back in stock and I'll be able to replace my exhaust which has holes rusted in it. :)

I might like to discuss the stage 2 springs at the meet up too.  At the moment I'm concerned they would be a little too harsh for 90% of the driving I do around Seattle.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
