I'm prioritizing the todo list for my car. I stumbled onto this situation in my spare tire bay. What is the best course of action here?
Leave it alone and deal with it later? (doesn't sound smart)
Sand and prime?
I do not have a lot of experience with rust and I really can't tell how bad it is.
My car is in process of having all the rusty areas remedied with new metal. This includes the spare tire well. Wolf Industries in Quebec fabricates panels from scratch. They made the bottom for $125 USD + ship. It’s hand formed and rolled in 20 gauge with a 1/2 inch lip. I do not have the welding skills but it’s a fairly basic procedure for an experienced metal man.
