Love the flares.  Hope to see you at the track for the SVRA event.  G

Hi Gordon,

We'll be there. I'll be racing the Koepchen 02, the Luigi CSL, and the new (to me) mighty NSU. Be sure to stop by. It's been too long!

Undercoat & COLOR!!!!

As you can see from the photos Stephen has begun spraying the underside of the car. The first thing he applied was undercoat under the car, in the wheel wells, trunk area, and the lower sections of the engine bay. Once that is dry he begins applying the Laguna Seca blue over the undercoat and throughout the engine bay.

It's been said before, but I'll say it again, those flares are stunning. Love the way you've carried the line round onto the rear panel.

Terry went down to the paint shop today to help transfer the completed shell on to their cart in preparation of bringing it back to Racecraft to begin assembling the car. Here's how the car looks with the lids back on it:

Looks great Steve.  Did you ever settle on a set of wheels for it?

Thanks Mark. Yes I have. I'm going to use the same BBS wheels I have on the Koepchen 02. I have always really liked them and I think they will go well with the LS blue paint:

Stephen got the doors hung over the weekend. Terry and Bill are headed to Stephen's shop today to install wires for the dome light, limit straps on the doors, and install the headliner. Then the car will head back to Racecraft to begin assembly.

With racing season in full swing progress has slowed on this project. Terry did go pick up the shell today following installation of the headliner and he brought it back to Racecraft so that re-assembly can begin:

Time for a short update. We have found a set of vintage Hardy & Beck wheels we would like to use on the car. Terry has begun assembling the rear suspension so we can check on what off-set we need to fill the wheel arches. It looks like everything should fit just right!

I have also decided to take a different tack regarding the interior. Bill mocked up a door panel with the original materials I had picked out and it just didn't work like I thought it would. During car week we attended the Carmel Concours and I spent a lot of time looking at interiors to see what I liked. There was a hot rod painted a blue that is close to LS blue and it had a nice rich brown leather on the seats.

So we are going to do the seats and door panels in a rich dark brown leather. Samples are in the photos below.
