Jim, I don't know that I had ever seen your interior - really nice (A+) especially on the seats.

Steve, H&B wheels will look really great on that car, truth be told though they look pretty darn good on ANY car.  Strikingly similar to Alpina 3 piece wheels (and from what I heard BBovensiepen thought the same when he saw them on display along with some of his....). Some of the earlier ones had 20 spokes, the ones they offer today I believe are 16 - which they still offer ($3 grand though for a set of four.....ouchy).  Myself I am partial to the older style 20 spoke, either way they will look great on your car.

Those Hardy and Becks are amazing! You mentioned that they are still offered today.... I can't seem to find the vendor/site who has them, could you share who may carry them?

Terry got the refurbished dash in today. It was restored by Just Dashes. We had them remove the seat belt warning light to clean it up..

I hate to ask personal questions, so don’t answer if you don’t want but that dash is beautiful, it looks amazing!! How much $ did that set you back from just dashes? And how long did it take them turn around time? Thanks

We had them do some mods on it which added a bit to the price ($2500). They are great to work with and obviously do fantastic work. There is a video on their web site that walks you through the process. Very interesting:

Terry has been making good progress assembling the car. Both front and rear subframes are in, along with the suspension. Wiring is all in. Some trim and lights are in. Dash and heater are in. Peddle box and brake master cylinder are in. Yes, we found an Alpine diff cover for the car.

I always do and recommend painting the drums so they don't turn to ugly rust that can be seen through the wheels.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
