Price: $4950
Location: Inland Empire. CA

Description:

If I were not clear across the country and already neck deep in cars, I would jump on this one.  A '72 in storage since 1992!   Looks to be in pretty good shape from the images.   The only mark against it is that automatic gearbox.

It's true. I have had 5 people so far commit to buy it either on the phone or via email and then bail out or drop completely off the face of the earth. One guy even sent a deposit, promised the balance by the end of the week and now almost a week past the deadline is still making excuses.

And the lowball offers...one guy keeps emailing me again and again with a $2500 offer and no matter how many times I tell him no, he persists!

its a good car, clean papers, tons of extra parts and I honestly think it is priced very fair.

i just want one real person with real money that can really make the deal happen.

Im starting to wonder if it will ever happen

Randy- didn't realize you were on here (lots of great information)!  Sorry it hasn't sold yet. Just for the record,  I had multiple folks flake out on buying my 71 Beetle and my 89 Acura Integra.

This is actually where I saw it.  Most of the time when I see a good deal on Barn Finds, it's gone within a couple of days.  Good luck to the seller.  I'm sure somebody will buy it soon.

I've seen the car on the web, too.  It looks great, and I think it IS priced reasonably.  I try not to let it keep my awake at night, but it is difficult...

You should sell that Tii injection system that you have listed with the car separate of the car.  If you have everything including the intake manifold, injectors, pump and lines, you could easily get a grand for it on eBay and sell to someone who actually will need it.  If you leave it in the trunk of your automatic, the next owner will most likely never use it.

I’ve now had 6 people agree to buy the car and then flake out at the tail end with some lame excuse.

Doesnt anyone ever follow through and hold to their word anymore?  If I say I’m gonna buy something ... I do.

Thanks for the advice on the fi system, if the car does not sell this weekend I’m going to eBay all the parts and put the car on BAT no reserve and just be done with it.

below is a link to detailed pics

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
