gracer
I read that article and the original one. I have the original one in my collection. There was also an article in C/D about a 1602 that had been "Hotrodded" by installing a 2 liter engine in the car. Those articles are what got me started down the 02 path. jgerock
I posted it on IG (Instagram) for #2002sday. Article writer was Rich Ceppos who is pictured with a Roundie on page 15 - the front spoiler is a flat sheet of something.

mike472
Nice article that Ceppos wrote. I didn’t realize he was an 02 owner
OriginalOwner
alright, somebody "out there" ain't my friend anymore and took down that link. SO, go here. About 1/3 of the way down, left side, below that green 'start download' nonsense ..... you see small font that says, "Car and Driver USA - December 2017.pdf" ...... click on that: http://emagazinepdf.com/2017/11/car-and-driver-usa-december-2017/ Cheers, Carl Edited November 18, 2017 by OriginalOwner
zinz
C&D editors missed something.... Lead picture caption. "The 2000, shown here in tii form, became not just the blueprint for future sports coupes and sedans but the segment’s Platonic ideal." The 2000...? PaulTWinterton
Nice. Other than the "2000" typo I noted that C/D reported 20-23mpg. Hmmm. Makes me appreciate my 26-27mpg calculations for the tii.
