Oil pressure spikes

Recommended Posts

Stuck pressure regulator in the pump.  Not uncommon.

If that's true, it should be temperature dependent- as in, cold, it spikes lower,

after a long fast highway run, it should be higher.

The fix is to drop the pan, pull the pump, and either replace

or have the regulator bore sleeved.

The steel piston galls the aluminum bore.
