Jvaz
Hello guys I’m new to the forum but being following for a while. I got a 1973 2002 couple months ago, in very good condition. the car was restored several years ago. iI have notice a gap on the door where the window vent meets the edge of the door, I have search the forum but have not find if this is normal. so my question is, is this gap normal? If not is it that the window vents need to be adjusted or I’m missing a part like a rubber cap? thank you here is a picture of my 02 and pictures of the gaps in question

Jvaz
Great! thank you so much now, do you know if I need to remove the vent to install the cap, or I can install it like is? is the also a cap for the other edge of the door? Stevenc22
There are 4 caps 1 front and one rear on each door. Each corner has a different part number. All 4 parts are in the link I gave you. You do not remove anything. They just press into the gap.

They are somewhat complicated little buggers though, with metal inside and fancy little flaps to tuck in. Talk about a model-specific part. This is one of those pieces that I am amAzed we can still get new. I bought the two missing ones for my car from a FAQ member a while back. I have them in place, but they are not tucked in as neatly as Steven's. Perhaps I will try again. Tom

It helps to grease the steel mounting clips a bit, then gently use a rubber or rawhide mallet to drive the rather stiff clips in place. mike
visionaut
I've bought 2 sets of these stupid caps to date. and the buggers keep falling out/off, so I'm down to just 2 of the 4 again. Should I try gluing them in? Tom
Simeon
I could never get mine to fit cleanly. Every few weeks it catches my eye as I climb out the car. I stuff the rubber flaps into place for another few weeks.
Stevenc22
I did put a drop of super glue on the flap to hold them in
